Going Mobile
We’re living in an increasingly digital world and now, more than ever before, our students are arriving in our classrooms with powerful technology in their pockets and backpacks. Our students want (and need) opportunities to use their cellphones and tablets to support their learning. This session will highlight many strategies that teachers can use to leverage the potential that student-owned devices could bring to the classroom. If you’ve got a smartphone or a tablet, please bring it along so that you can fully participate in a variety of hands-on activities that could be implemented across all grade levels.

21C Learners
Through the context of the 5 Cs framework for supporting the development of essential 21st Century skills in education, this session will highlight authentic projects that build upon these specific focus areas - Communication, Collaboration, Critical thinking, Citizenship and Creativity. Attendees in this session will gain insight into the inspiration, planning, process and culmination of specific projects that have been developed to engage teachers & learners while delivering authentic programming for students across grade levels. We will also consider the benefits of leveraging the use of social media as a tool for teaching and learning.

SMART Start
This hands-on workshop will introduce teachers to the benefits of using SMART Boards to support the teaching and learning in their classrooms. Participants will explore the basic functionality of SMART interactive whiteboards and discover how they can quickly and easily create & share instructional resources using SMART Notebook software.

SMARTer Teaching
This hands-on workshop will provide teachers with practical examples of how SMART interactive whiteboards could be used to empower teachers and students. Participants will consider several techniques for using digital ink and move beyond the basics to motivate and engage their students using SMART Boards and SMART Notebook software.
